Local Food Train this Saturday!

On Saturday, January 19th the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad will offer a special train ride in support of the work of the SLV Local Foods Coalition.  The San Luis Valley Local Food Train will showcase the distinct flavors of the San Luis Valley on a scenic winter train ride through snow covered mountains. 

Partake in local foods and drinks provided by Valley growers and brewers AND support the work of the SLV Local Foods Coalition, a nonprofit working to promote a sustainable local food system.  We will also welcome guest speakers, including: ranchers, Julie Sullivan and George Whitten; beekeeper Karen Lemke; and farmer and seed saver, Dan Hobbs;  whowill be on hand to sharetheir extensive experience with agriculture and the environment and  the value of eating locally.
